Malika was born in Lima, Peru of European ancestors. As a child she learned her first brush-strokes from her mother's sister, fine artist Patricia Rodo.
Due to her father's military career, she traveled Peru from North to South and from the Coastal Plains to the highest Sierras and back down the east slope to the Amazonas rainforests. She fell in love with the native art of the North Coast Region and developed her passion for the Ocean, Walking Horses and the eclectic art of the mixed cultures of Ancient Peru.
She receive her formal art education from Miraflores School of Interior Design, where she had the opportunity to take classes taught by well-known Architects and Designers, as well as, the Master Peruvian Aquarellist Juan Pastorelli.
During all her life she kept painting and developing mixed media objects of art. Also to fulfill her passion for arts, Malika hosted several Fine Art Cocktails to promote novel artist, mainly painters from Peruvian North Coast Region. She was rewarded for these efforts with private lessons and tutoring from some of the best of the Peruvian art world.
She is a creative catalyst, an accomplished artist and teacher in a variety of media, including decorative painting and certified Mercart USA Teacher in metal embossing ( Traditional Spanish Colonial craftsmanship in Latin Countries, known as REPUJADO or Russian Art).
Her husband built her a Studio on their property in the Texas Hill Country - South of Austin, where she enjoys the peace of the surroundings, the music of her home - country Peru and the companionship of her rottie, while she indulges her passion : ART!
